This home at 505 North 13th Street was built in 1907 by Nathan A. Gibson, a prominent attorney,
who was recognized by Chief Justice William Howard Taft as making the best appearance in front
of the U. S. Supreme Court during his tenure. Demonstrating his interest and civic pride, N.
A. Gibson, acting as a special attorney for the city in 1907, presented a proclamation to Governor
Haskell to make Muskogee a city of first class.
