This home at 1303 West Okmulgee Avenue was built in 1917 by Charles C. Hultquist, a native of Shafer,
Minnesota. He practiced law in Texas before coming to Indian Territory. At one time, he is said to have
owned sixteen cotten gins and a cotton seed oil mill in Oklahoma. He also served as President of the First
National Banks of Coweta and Porter, Oklahoma, and was a director of the First National Bank
of Muskogee. The Muskogee Public Library was the ultimate beneficiary of a sizable trust left by
Mr Hultquist to his daughter, Anna. |
